Hello there, Patty!
Welcome aboard planDisney, where my pals and I are happy to see you sail our way with your question. I'd love to help.
When it comes to exploring the exciting ports of call you visit during your sailing, you are welcome to get off the ship and have an adventure on your own, or you are welcome to book a
Port Adventure through Disney Cruise Line. The advantage of booking with Disney Cruise Line is ease and peace of mind. When you book through Disney, you can expect a Disney Cruise Line representative to guide your group to the appropriate meeting time and place of the tour operator. The tour operator will be in touch with Disney if there are any delays and will ensure you return to the ship on time.
You do not have to book through Disney Cruise Line, and in booking on your own, you might get a better price, especially if the company you are interested in booking with is offering a special. Those types of discounts will not apply if you purchase through Disney Cruise Line. If you'd prefer to book with Disney Cruise Line, once your
onboard booking window opens, you can view the available Port Adventures (and their prices). You can select from the options presented, and you won't be charged for your Port Adventure until you are on the ship. It will be added to your onboard account charges. If you decide to change your mind about your Port Adventure, you can cancel up to three days before your sailing.
Patty, I'm wishing you a most magical vacation with your granddaughters! Please visit us again if you have follow-up questions. We love to chat about Disney Cruising!
Happy Planning,
Adrianna
