I am planning a reunion for 50 people. I understand we can’t make dining reservations for that many people but I am trying to see how many reservations I will need each restaurant. What is the maximum one person can book?

Hi there, Kami! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! It looks like you have quite the trip planned this fall! There is nothing like sharing the magic of The Walt Disney World Resort with all of your loved ones. I'm sure you will all make many core memories to bank for the rest of your lifetime! I do hope those memories are filled with joy!

Now, as you already know, some challenges come with traveling with a group that large. Advance dining reservations can certainly be tricky. The usual strategy is to book multiple reservations within 15-30 minutes of one another at the same restaurant. Most restaurants have a maximum party size of 8-10 Guests. You aren't able to book multiple overlapping reservations on one account, so you will need to enlist the help of multiple other members of your group to try to secure reservations at the same time. I do have to say, Kami, it is pretty unlikely that you'll be able to host all 50 Guests in your group at the restaurant, as capacity is limited and you usually do not see more than 1-2 large tables in one dining location at the same time.

I have two other suggestions to make your dining dreams become a reality. First, you may consider allowing your group to split up and eat at different restaurants for these sit-down meals. This gives you a better chance of securing reservations for all while allowing everyone to try something different. You never know what new restaurants may become your favorite! Another idea, and probably the one that best suits your needs, is to reach out to the Disney Meetings & Events and discuss what private dining options may be available for you to book for your entire group of 50 Guests. They work with social events all the time and can help find the perfect venue with the perfect menu for you! While this may be a bit of an extra cost, it will guarantee that your large party can stay together for the meals you choose during the duration of your Walt Disney World vacation!

I hope this helps answer your question today, Kami! Be sure to have everyone in your group download the My Disney Experience Mobile App before your arrival. This will help the entire process run more smoothly. From Disney Resort Hotel check-in to Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering, this app will be your go-to for helpful tools and information during your stay.

    Have a magical day,
