Planning a return trip to Disney. Hubby and and I each have 4 day tickets, 2 kids have none. In the past we have stayed on property and used the dining plan. Since we already have tickets, can we still buy into the dining plan? How would this work?

    Hello Heather!

In order to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, each guest registered to a room must also purchase a minimum of a one-day Magic Your Way ticket.  The only exceptions to this rule apply to rooms booked under Annual Passholder and Military rates (and for DVC members with certain types of reservations).

If you're set on purchasing the Dining Plan, you can book your room with each person getting a one-day ticket.  You can save the two tickets for you and your husband for a later vacation. (Unused tickets never expire.)  Then, after you check in to your resort, you can upgrade your children's tickets to four-day tickets so they have the same tickets as the adults.

Otherwise, you could consider setting a budget for meals.  We like to grab a Disney Gift Card and add to it throughout the year and use it as our own version of the Dining Plan.

I hope this helps, Heather!  Please come back and see us again real soon.

    Have a magical day,
    Ashley
