Hey Howdy Hey Kathy and welcome to planDisney!
Resort hopping is one of my favorite things to do when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. I love visiting all the other resorts, sampling the food and drink offerings and of course, doing a little shopping! Thank you for your question on resort hopping and transportation options. I will be happy to give you more information.
I am super happy to report Kathy, that resort hopping is allowed and encouraged! Feel free to visit any of the resorts you like as they all have reasons to visit and unique offerings you cannot get or see anywhere else!
During your time resort hopping, as a Guest of the Walt Disney World Resort, you will also have access to
Resort Transportation. This comes in so many different varieties and it is a fun way to navigate to each destination. My favorite forms of transportation are the
Walt Disney World Monorail and
Disney Skyliner. They have very unique views and are super relaxing ways to get around the resort.
With the monorail and skyline systems, you will have the option to visit several resorts connected by each of these systems. While other resorts are great to visit, they may be a little tricky to get to and from because of the lack of transportation options. When riding the Skyliner, you will soar to new heights and visit resorts such as Disney's Riviera Resort which is amazing.
Le Petit Cafe is always on our to-do list for a coffee and French pastry while you roam the beautifully themed resort and enjoy the fountains outside. You can also be taken to
Disney's BoardWalk and check out all of the resorts and fun entertainment throughout this area. As you get off of the Skyliner, this is a bridge you will see to get to the BoardWalk and in the evenings you can catch a view of Luminous The Symphony of Us in EPCOT.
The Monorail is my favorite in the evening. All of the Magic Kingdom resorts have so many reasons to visit and stay awhile to roam the grounds and try a little something to eat from each resort. The shops are also great in each. My favorite thing to do is to visit Disney's Polynesian Resort at night, grab either a drink from
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace or a Dole Whip from
Pineapple Lanai and pull up a spot on the beach. When Happily Ever After takes place in Magic Kingdom, you will have a great spot for the show. The music is pipped in and this is my favorite place to watch the fireworks from outside of the parks.
Kathy, I could go on and on for all the shops to visit and places to eat at each resort. Long story short, you will have an awesome time resort hopping and I am glad you have a day designated to do so! Let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
