Aloha Susan and welcome to planDisney!
It looks like in just a few weeks you'll see the line where the sky meets the sea and you'll be on the shores of the lagoons at Ko Olina enjoying everything offered at
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa! My family visited Aulani Resort just over a year ago and I am still dreaming about it. I sure hope we'll make it back there one day soon.
Character dining is such a fantastic way to enhance a dining experience and
visit with Characters in a very neat environment. At Aulani Resort, Guests can mingle with Mickey Mouse and some of his pals during breakfast at
Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands. Here, you'll enjoy incredible food, and local artwork, find yourself surrounded by intricate stained glass, vividly-coloured murals and dramatic lighting or you might choose to dine alfresco on the lanai next to a calming koi pond.
Susan, I spoke with an Aulani Cast Member who shared that while unfortunately, Guests cannot bring a cake from outside the resort, they can visit the
Ulu Café and purchase a full-sized decorated cake (or even cupcakes) that they can bring to a Makahiki breakfast with Mickey and friends.
To add a sprinkle of pixie dust to your granddaughter's birthday, you can visit a Cast Member at the Front Desk and request a Birthday button. Your granddaughter might receive birthday wishes from Cast Members (and even Guests!) when they see her wearing the button.
Susan, I hope this information is helpful. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your granddaughter's special day at the beautiful Aulani Resort. If you have any other vacation planning questions, please feel free to visit
planDisney again.
See ya real soon,
Candace
