Planning a quick three day, one park trip with friends using our DVC points, two rooms. We have MDE, but our friends do not. Do they have to have MDE? Seems like a lot of work for such a short visit. We’re not particularly tech savvy. LOL! Tha for any i

    Welcome to planDisney, Cecile!

It's always so nice when I get to chat with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members –– thanks for stopping by with your question!  Don't you love how easy it is to use your Vacation Points to pop into Walt Disney World Resort for a quick visit?  Even after many years of Membership, that feeling never gets old for me.  I'm so excited to hear that you and your friends are dropping in for a quick trip later this year –– I think you're in for an incredible time!

If your friends don't feel up to learning the ins and outs of the My Disney Experience mobile app for a short visit, you can tell them not to worry –– once you arrive at your Disney Vacation Club Resort, your friends can stop by the front desk to request a key card for to access their room.  Just make sure that you're all linked in your Friends & Family account, that way you can take advantage of all the features of the app, like placing a mobile dining order or making your Genie+ Lightning Lane selections, together as a group. However, there is one feature that they might enjoy using at the Resort, which is why I typically recommend at least one person in each room uses the app –– by using the app's mobile check-in feature, you and your friends will be able to bypass the front desk and receive a notification once your rooms are ready. Then, you'll be able to unlock the door of your rooms right from the app.  This easy and convenient feature allows you to skip the line and get right down to the business of vacationing, almost like having your very own DVC Resort Lightning Lane!

One other thing you'll want to do before you arrive is be sure to download your new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card.  That way, you'll be able to take advantage of all your Member Benefits during your visit.  You can access your card by downloading a Disney MagicMobile pass right from the My Disney Experience app, which will be saved in the digital wallet of your phone.  With access to all my DVC perks and extras right at my fingertips, I like to think of it as having my very own Membership magic wand!  I recently shared the step-by-step process of downloading your new card with another DVC Guest, so be sure to check out that answer if you'd like more details.

Again, thanks for stopping by planDisney, Cecile.  I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing your and your friends plenty of Membership magic during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
