    We are planning on purchasing our tickets through Sam's. We will need to link the tickets to our magic bands. Can I do this by entering the confirmation number in the My Disney Experience app? Do I have to assign the tickets to those in our party?

    Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for submitting your question today. I see your trip is coming soon, you must be so excited! I absolutely love the planning process of a Disney vacation, almost just as much as the vacation itself, so I am thrilled to be answering your question. 

    I see you are a real Disney pro, Jessica! You are absolutely right, you will need to link your tickets to your My Disney Experience account by using their confirmation number. First, I would recommend making sure that your whole party has a profile on your My Disney Experience account or that their accounts are linked to your Family & Friends List. Second, once you have purchased your tickets and received the confirmation number, you will be able to log into your My Disney Experience account and click on "My Plans." If you scroll down the page a bit, you will see a blue tab that says "Add More Plans." This tab allows you to add all kinds of reservations and items to your plans, including the tickets you will have purchased. Then, you will be prompted to assign the tickets to members of your party. Lastly, you can absolutely link your tickets to MagicBands, old and new. If you choose to buy a new MagicBand for your vacation, you will be able to purchase them up to 10 days before your arrival or upon arrival. I love getting new MagicBands as they become associated with the memories of your vacation and as Disney offers so many adorable designs. However, you can also get a physical ticket at a ticketing window at the main entrance of any of the four parks or download it on an eligible iPhone, Apple Watch or Google Pay enabled Android smartphone by using Disney MagicMobile on your My Disney Experience mobile app. Just remember that you are not limited to only one of these options so you can try them all and decide which one works best for you!
