Ahoy Rita!
I’m thrilled to hEAR that you are considering
Alaska for next summer! After polling my family, we all agree that our Alaskan voyage on the Disney Wonder was our best cruise so far. Of course, with so many
amazing ports of call like Skagway, Ketchikan, and Juneau along with some of the most amazing nature and wildlife encounters, Alaska really has the upper hand as a cruise destination.
Captain Mickey is working hard to ensure that quality safety measures will be implemented once cruising resumes. So I highly doubt that you will have to consider canceling your cruise for next year. That said, all but one Alaskan itinerary for 2021 are in the six nights or more category and have a payment in full date of at least 120 days prior to departure. (The lone 5 night sailing requires payment in full 90 days before departure). Up until the payment in full date, you may cancel without any fees.
Once the payment in full has been made, the
cancellation policy posted on the Disney Cruise Line website would apply to your itinerary and depends on the length of your cruise and your stateroom category. You would calculate how far out you are from your sailing date and then check out the applicable cancellation fee.
I would also highly recommend that you purchase either the
Vacation Protection Plan through Disney Cruise Line or a third party travel insurance company. Finally, please note that certain reservations with special restrictions ("Guarantee with Restrictions") are totally nonrefundable and nontransferable.
Since these tips are only the tip of the iceberg, please cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions about
Port Adventures, special events, and naturalist presentations. Wishing you a WONDERful adventure in Alaska!
Happy Sailing!
