Hello, I am planning to purchase an annual pass. Will it expire 1 year from date of purchase or from date of first use? Thank you!

    Hi Debbie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so excited to hear that you are considering purchasing an Annual Pass to Walt Disney World Resort. Even though I don't live near central Florida, I love being an Annual Passholder. The notion that I can visit any of the Disney theme parks whenever I want for an entire year makes me very happy.

I have great news for you regarding the start date of your Annual Pass. Your year of magic begins the first day you use your Annual Pass, not the day you purchase it. I know this because I bought my Annual Pass last September but did not activate it until I visited Epcot in October. My current Annual Pass is good until this coming October so your year begins when you first use that Annual Pass.

When you become an Annual Passholder, be sure to read Mickey Monitor, the quarterly newsletter they send you. In it you will find an up-to-date listing of discounts and opportunities that are available to guests who have Annual Passes. I love the merchandise and guest room discounts my Annual Pass gets me. Recently, I got a great rate on three rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort. I'm also very impressed with the substantial discount on Disney After Hours tickets. If you are a night owl, definitely look into this exceptional opportunity to explore Magic Kingdom Park with minimal crowds.

Let us know if you'd like to hear more about the joys of having an Annual Pass to Walt Disney World Resort. It was definitely one of the best purchases I have made.

Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
    Jill
