I am planning to propose at disneyworld. Do you have any ideas of where? I was thinking if i time it right at night they've been doing fireworks at night when they change christmas projections. Could we take our masks off for just that one moment?

Matthew, thank you so much for stopping by planDisney. I am honored to help with such a meaningful and memorable moment!

Cinderella Castle would be a fantastic backdrop for your proposal. There are occasional displays of pyrotechnic pixie dust that currently occur approximately every 15 minutes to enhance the festive nightly projections illuminating this iconic treasure. You would have to time it right, but this is such a fun idea! Having this extraordinary backdrop isn't the only reason your location of choice is a good idea - you will also have your very own PhotoPass Photographer at the ready to capture this moment in its entirety for you. Be sure to purchase Memory Maker so you can download every photo for one prepaid price; this isn't the time to pick and choose which ones you will want to save! To keep you both safe, you will need to wear appropriate face coverings at all times since you would be in a public area. These photos will show that nothing can stop you from starting your lives together or stop you from making magical moments together, and that is so sweet!

If you can sneak away a bit earlier in the day, you could pick up some personalized Mickey Ears from The Chapeau located at Magic Kingdom right on Main Street, U.S.A. You could have them embroidered to say something like "Bride and/or Groom to be" or "They/She/He/I said yes!". Give yourself a bit of time, as if they have a few orders you may have to come back for them. You can pull them out after your proposal and ask the PhotoPass Photographer to take your pictures wearing them and facing the castle. This way, you won't see your masks and you will have an awesome photo you will always hold dear to your hearts!

If you have any Advanced Dining Reservations at a table service restaurant, proposing at your table during your meal could be an alternative. You wouldn't have a PhotoPass Photographer to capture this moment, but if someone else is traveling with you who would also be dining with you, let them know what is happening so they are ready with a camera! Your server or any other restaurant Cast Member will not be able to take a photo for you. Even if you propose in front of the castle, it would be a great idea to have a romantic dinner right after to celebrate and be able to see your fiancé's ear to ear smile. Who says how long your moment has to be? I say it will be the entire evening! If you don't already have such a dinner planned, be sure to make an advanced dining reservation right away to be sure you have a reservation ready to go. Even if a restaurant you would like doesn't have any availability, keep checking back or if your visit is more than one day - check each evening of your vacation. Some great dining suggestions would be California Grill, where you can overlook the Magic Kingdom while you dine. Or feast inside Cinderella Castle at Cinderella's Royal Table. Or head on down to The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs! I admit this third restaurant is not as romantic as my other two suggestions; however, they have excellent food. Their steak is always the way to my heart!

Matthew, let me be the first to offer you a big congratulations! I wish you both many magical years together.

    Have a magical day!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
