I am in the planning process for a trip to WDW with my family. We are surprising our 3 year old daughter with a Disney trip for Christmas. Am I absolutely crazy for going to Disney Dec 26-29? Any recommendations?

Becky, there is nothing more magical at the holidays then the decorations at Walt Disney World. Your dates for your family trip will coincide with some of the busiest times in the parks but it can still be a trip to remember.

My biggest suggestion is to go a bit more organized then you might normally for a Disney trip.  You will want to make your dining reservations on the first day possible. If you don't make advanced dining times you will most likely be disappointed since this week is busy at all the parks and resorts.

My second suggestion is to relax and don't try to do it all.  If you choose to hit all four parks then realize that lines and waits will be long and just choose a few select attractions for your "not to be missed" list.  Concentrate on things your daughter would enjoy on this trip.

Make sure you select a character dining experience for your family or set aside a time for some photos and autographs in one of the parks.  One of my favorite spots is in EPCOT to the right of the fountain.  Here kids can meet four or five of the major Disney characters and Disney photographers are on hand for each one to capture the special moment.

The parks are busy but the magic doesn't go away.  Relax, slow down and enjoy and this vacation will be one of your best!
