I am planning on going to the pre fireworks desert party for happily ever after at Magic Kingdom. Would I be able to stay in the viewing area for the starlight parade after the fireworks? Would I get a good view of the parade from this area?

Hello there, Natalie! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sharing such a great question. I love that you’re planning to attend the Pre-Party Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom Park. It’s such a wonderful way to enjoy Happily Ever After with reserved viewing and plenty of sweet treats.

To make sure I gave you the most accurate information, I checked with a friendly Cast Member, and here’s what I learned. Guests attending the Pre-Party Dessert Party are escorted to the reserved fireworks viewing area in the hub prior to the show, but once Happily Ever After concludes, you are not able to remain in that section. Cast Members will clear the area fairly quickly after the last burst of fireworks to allow regular Guest traffic to flow again.

The good news is that you are more than welcome to find another spot nearby to enjoy the Disney Starlight Parade. And honestly, anywhere along Main Street, U.S.A. provides a beautiful view of the floats, characters, and dazzling lights of the parade. If you move toward the end of Main Street near the Train Station, you’ll often find yourself with a little more room and a wonderful vantage point of the entire parade as it travels toward Cinderella Castle.

So while you won’t be able to stay in the reserved section after the fireworks, you’ll still have plenty of options to enjoy the parade in a fantastic location. Between the breathtaking fireworks spectacular and the sparkling magic of the parade, your evening is going to be full of unforgettable memories.

Natalie, I hope this helps you picture how your evening will flow and brings some clarity as you plan ahead. If you’d like tips for where to head after the fireworks to catch the parade with less of a crowd, I’d be happy to share a few of my favorite go-to spots.

    Warm hugs,
