Jennifer from TX Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am in the planning phase of multiple trips to WDW in 2022. I am interested in annual passes for myself and my daughter. Is the 1 Year from the date of purchase or from the date of first use? We are not going until March, so should I wait until then?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. I'm so glad you've stopped by to talk about potentially becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. I've been a passholder for years now, Jennifer, and I can absolutely say that it is well worth the initial investment.

With the sale of new Walt Disney World Annual Passes opening back up, we did see some changes to the program. Now, out-of-state Guests like you and I are eligible to purchase the Disney Incredi-Pass. The Disney Incredi-Pass offers 365 magical days of fun with no blockout dates. With this annual pass you'll also receive complimentary theme park parking and discounts on food, merchandise and select resort stays. The Disney Incredi-Pass also allows you to make and hold up to 5 park pass reservations at a time without having a resort stay booked. This is great for some of us older passholders because before the switch, we were only given 3 and that makes it tough for a long weekend trip.

Jennifer, I think you'll be happy to know that your Walt Disney World Annual Pass expires from the first date that you use it. It's activated the first time you scan into a theme park and then your countdown clock begins. Once you've used it once, you should be able to log in to your MyDisneyExperience account and see the actual expiration date. If you'd like, you can go ahead and purchase your annual pass now and start making your plans and park pass reservations. There's no time like the present, especially because I have heard that they are only selling a certain number of Walt Disney World Annual Passes. If you are sure you are going to do it in the spring, I'd say go ahead now to make sure you are able to get them.

I hope this helps, Jennifer. If you have any other questions about the Walt Disney World Annual Pass program or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. Have a great day and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
