Hi there, Nawana. Welcome to planDisney! We are happy to have you join us all the way from Alberta. What a wonderful way to celebrate your daughter’s 10th birthday. There is truly nothing like ringing in a big milestone at the Happiest Place on Earth, especially when it comes with balloons, churros, and a whole lot of pixie dust.
When it comes to
tickets, Disney policy does require guests to have an age appropriate ticket based on their age on the day they enter the parks at
Disneyland Resort. That means a child who is 10 years old will need a 10+ ticket. Mickey runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to ages and admission.
I do have a tigger-ific way save you a little bit! If you are visiting the parks in the days leading up to her birthday, you can absolutely purchase the 3 to 9 child ticket for those days. Then, once she officially bounces into that double digit milestone, you would purchase a 10+ ticket for the birthday and beyond. Best of both worlds and very much in the spirit of celebrating big.
Be sure to stop by
Guest Relations or a merchandise location to pick up a complimentary birthday button for her. Cast Members love spotting those buttons and you never know when an extra birthday wish or magical moment might pop up. Celebrating a birthday at Disneyland always feels extra special when everyone knows it is your big day.
To make this special occasion even more celebratory, consider a special dining package, like the
World of Color Happiness! dessert party. I attended this for my own birthday, and it was so special to have reserved seating, a delicious box of goodies, and specialty drinks only available to dessert party participants. You will want to ensure you book this in advance of your visit, as seating and space is limited.
Nawana, I hope this helps you plan a birthday trip that is equal parts magical and memorable. If you have more questions as you get ready to celebrate that awesome double digit birthday, come on back! I am always happy to help you plan more happily ever after moments.
Wishing many magical moments to you, and a very happy birthday to your daughter!
