Planning on parking and spending all day at Epcot and taking the monorail to Magic Kingdom for After Hours Event. Will I be able to take the monorail back to Epcot at 1:00am?

Hi Susan, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you're attending an After Hours party at Magic Kingdom Park next week! With your trip coming up quickly, let's map out the best options for your park hopping adventure!

Susan, the EPCOT Monorail typically begins running 30 minutes prior to park opening and closes two hours after EPCOT closes. I did a little digging on the Park Hours Calendar to verify EPCOT closing times during your upcoming visit, and it looks like they will be open until 11 PM for Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort Guests on Monday nights and closing at 9 PM all other nights that week. Typically during the Extended Evening Hours, guests can expect Disney transportation to run for an hour after the event. Based on this information, I would not recommend leaving your car at EPCOT if your plan to stay at Magic Kingdom Park until 1 AM.

I do have a few recommendations for you to manage your transportation with a little less worry, though! One option would be to park your car at the Transportation and Ticket Center at the start of your day, that way you would not have to move the car and it will be there for you after the After Hours event. After parking here, you can take the monorail to EPCOT for the day and then back to Magic Kingdom Park for your party later that day. This would also mean at the end of your busy day, your car will be ready and waiting for you without the need for additional transportation!

Another option is to park your car at EPCOT for the start of your day, and then relocate your car to the Transportation and Ticket Center parking lot before the After Hours Event. If you do this, you will not incur any additional parking fees, as guests are only charged to park once daily. And, if you are a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, remember that standard parking is complimentary at the theme parks! You can read all about parking fees and options online to help decide what will work best for you!

Susan, I'd also like to remind you that with your After Hours ticket, you can access entry to Magic Kingdom Park starting at 7 PM for your event! This perk will give you a few extra magical hours and the opportunity to watch the fireworks spectatcular Happily Ever After! One of the things I am most excited for during this event is the opportunity to watch both this fireworks show and the 11 PM showing of Enchantment in the same night!

Also, during the After Hours party, TRON Lightcycle/Run will be operating for the first time as a standby queue! If you haven't had the chance to enter the grid yet, definitely make your way over for a high-speed, thrilling experience!

I hope this has been helpful and that you have a magical vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, Susan! Come back anytime if you have any more vacation planning questions!
