We're planning on parking at Hollywood Studios and walking over to Epcot, spending the day then going to Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk afterward, probably until late evening. Will our car be okay leaving it in the Studios lot so late? Thanks!

    Hi Tim! Welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you’re gearing up for quite the magical Disney day!  Starting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, strolling over to EPCOT, and ending the night dancing at Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk is honestly one of those “how locals do Disney” kind of evenings. ChEARs to you for some truly magical planning!

Tim, in my experience, your car should be perfectly fine parked at Disney’s Hollywood Studios lot while you explore the EPCOT Resort Area. I’ve been known to park at one location and then move around the surrounding area using the walking paths or Disney transportation, to then return to my car safe and sound, so this shouldn’t be an issue at all! I just don’t recommend leaving it overnight.

The one thing I would keep in mind is transportation timing later at night. Most Disney transportation options around that area, like the Disney Skyliner and Friendship Boats, usually run until about an hour to an hour and a half after the parks close. After that window, they stop operating for the night.

Because Atlantic Dance Hall typically stays open later into the evening, it’s possible you could be leaving after some of those transportation options have stopped running. The good news is that you still have easy backup options. Rideshare services are very common and readily available around Walt Disney World at all hours. And you can also use a Minnie Van through the Lyft app if you’d prefer a Disney-operated ride. Either one can take you right back to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios parking lot to retrieve your car.

Another option, depending on timing, is simply walking back. The EPCOT Resort Area, including Disney’s BoardWalk, the EPCOT International Gateway entrance, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is all connected by walking paths, and it’s a really pleasant stroll along Crescent Lake in the evening. That being said, it might end up being a trek, and considering the full day of fun you have in store, you might want to sit comfortably and be driven to your car instead. Pro-tip: Use the directions tool in your My Disney Experience app to see all your options and turn-by-turn directions if you decide to walk it out.

Tim, I hope this info was helpful as you prep for magical EPCOT sunsets, BoardWalk lights, and a little late-night dancing. If any other planning questions pop up, please don’t hesitate to come back to see us. We’d love to see you back here at planDisney!

    See ya real soon,
