    Hi: Planning for one afternoon&evening with my son, (13) at Magic Kingdom so one chance to watch Wishes. Do you think it's more magical to remain in the park to watch or go to the California Grill for dessert and watch from their deck?

    Hi Susan,

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. What a special mother and son evening you have planned! Of course, Wishes nighttime spectacular is magical from almost any location. 

    We have watched Wishes from various places in Magic Kingdom and the balcony of the California Grill. In Magic Kingdom, it feels quite special being there with so many other people all taking a moment to enjoy the beauty of the fireworks. From the California Grill, the view is breathtaking and the setting less crowded.

    Our family disagrees in our responses to this question. While my husband and I prefer watching Wishes from the balcony of the California Grill, our girls, who are 10-years old, prefer enjoying the show in Magic Kingdom. 

    If you do choose dessert at the California Grill, try to make a reservation for a time that is just before the fireworks show. Our last dinner reservation at the California Grill was for 8:50 but we arrived 30 minutes early and were seated soon after arriving.

    Whatever you decide, you will have a magical time!
