We are planning a one day trip to Magic Kingdom and I have no idea how to plan ahead for this adventure. It will be my husband, myself and our two daughters, ages 19 and 14. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

    Dear Patricia,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great planning question about the Walt Disney World Resort!

A one-day trip to the Magic Kingdom with two teenagers will be an adventure for sure! Usually, my best advice is to "pace yourself," but in this case I will go against my own advice and say "hustle!" You can get so much done in that one day of visiting the Magic Kingdom with older kids.

I first recommend booking at least one Advanced Dining Reservation, perhaps for Be Our Guest Restaurant or Jungle Skipper Canteen. Those can be booked up to 180 days in advance of your check-in date. That will give you a bit of down time during your day, and an opportunity to sample some of the delicious choices offered at the Magic Kingdom!

Second, I recommend that you make your FastPass+ selections. This can be done up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, or 30 days if you are staying off-site. For kids your kids ages, I recommend Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Remember, that day after you use up your first three FastPass+ selections, you can select additional FastPass+ selections one at a time until they run out for the day.

I know that you're going to have such a magical time! Enjoy!
