Hi! We are planning on one day in Magic Kingdom with my family and have booked Dec 22, 2022. We are not planning on going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, will our hours be cut short? Thank you!

Hiya Amy and welcome to planDisney!

Aren't family vacations the best? And of course, they're even better when they're at the Walt Disney World Resort. I'm so glad that your family will get to dive into the holiday spirit when the pixie dust glows red and green.

December 22nd is the final date for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This means that daytime Guests of Magic Kingdom Park without a party ticket will need to exit at 6 PM. But that doesn't mean that you can't still have an amazing time. In my experience, party days tend to be a bit less crowded. I'd suggest arriving early to the park to catch that special glow covering everything the light touches. Also, it may be worth the extra cost to upgrade your Theme Park Tickets to include the Park Hopper Option. That way when it's time to leave the park, you can potentially keep the party going at either Disney's Hollywood Studios or EPCOT. Now that Fantasmic! has returned to the former and Harmonious is delighting Guests at the latter, you'll still get that nighttime show experience to close out your Disney day.

Amy, I hope I've been able to help you today. Check out our special holiday episode of the planDisney Podcast to beef up your holiday knowledge before you go. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
