Hey there, hi there Deb!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Any season is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, but
Fall is particularly fun! The parks are decked out in Autumn decor, there are special Halloween touches, and
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing.
You can certainly
purchase your park tickets now and wait to make your
theme park reservations as you start to figure out how you want to spend your vacation days. Keep in mind that having park tickets doesn't automatically mean you'll be guaranteed entrance to a theme park. You will need a ticket AND a park reservation. There have been several days when some or all of the theme parks have been completely booked, so keep an eye on the
theme park availability calendar. Each date has 3 colors: green means all parks are available, yellow means only some parks are available, and gray means no parks are available. When you start to see yellow pop up in September or October, you know you'll need to make those reservations soon.
Assuming all of your travel dates stay green on the reservation calendar, I think it's ideal if you can wait to make your park reservations after you've made your
dining reservations. That way you can be flexible with your dining dates, which is especially helpful if you are hoping to get a reservation to
Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom,
Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT, or anywhere else that seems to get booked as soon as the 60 day reservation window opens.
Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
Diane
