I am planning an October 2014 trip to WDW with our children ages 3 and 6. Our 3 year old obviously will still be "stroller age" but our 6 year old is just about out of that category. Any suggestions for a 6 yr old who will want to ride vs walk

    Hi Sharon!

Your two are the same ages of two of my own!  On our last vacation, mine were 8, 5, and just-turned 3.  The three of them took turns trading off in our single stroller when they were tired.  Our 3 year old is very much in the "I DO IT!" stage, so she was very determined to walk it all on her own!  If your 3 year old is anything like ours, you'll see just how much walking those short little legs can do!

If you know your 6 year old is going to want to ride, then I would just plan on bringing (or renting) a double stroller.  We've found that even though the walking does add up, it's done in short bursts, and we make sure to have rest breaks planned in our day for snacks and people watching so it's not as overwhelming as it could be.  We also make sure that our walkers get great fuel while we're out walking the parks, so make sure you have some protein packed snacks on hand!

    Have a magical vacation!
