Planning for an October 2026 trip for two weeks I know 11 mo. out we are allowed to book with our home resort If I book 2 weeks with my home resort. & then switch one of the weeks with another resort 7 months out. Is that possible? Or do I lose points

    Hiya, Bianca!

Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you are dreaming about a great big beautiful tomorrow with your next Disney trip on the horizon. Our family always has our next magical adventure planned, so it always gives us something to look forward to!

Bianca, Disney Vacation Club Members can book their Home Resort beginning 11 months from their check-in date for up to 7 consecutive nights. If you want to book a two-week vacation at your Home Resort, each day after your 11-month window opens, you would have to modify your reservation to add an additional day until you reach your desired two-week vacation.

If you know for sure you plan to do a split stay, you could just book your first 7 nights at your Home Resort at 11 months and then book the next 7 nights at the 7-month mark at another Disney Vacation Club Resort. It would probably be the easiest way to do it.

However, if you decide to book the two weeks at your Home Resort, by adding one day at a time for the days until you reach your two weeks, you can modify the reservation again to change the destination for one of the weeks once the 7-month Booking window opens for you. If it is 31 days or longer than the check-in date, the Vacation Points will be returned to the Use Year in which the vacation was booked (so if you Borrow ahead, it returns to the Use Year of the vacation, not the Use Year from which you Borrowed). Then, you can rebook the new Disney Vacation Club Resort. For reservation modifications made 30 days or less before check-in, Vacation Points will be placed in a Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls. If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points in the Holding Account will expire at the end of your Use Year if not used.

So, my recommendation would be booking your first week at your Home Resort at your 11-month Booking Window. Then, for the second week, I would do that once the 7-month Booking window opens for all other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. This will be the easiest way to ensure you can maximize your Vacation Points for the vacation of your dreams.

I hope this helps you, Bianca! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
