We are planning an Oct 2009 vacation and are debating about where to stay. In the past we have stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. We are thinking about Carribean Beach resort. We want to try somewhere new but are afraid there will be too many people

My family just returned from our second stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I  highly recommend CBR to guests looking for a moderate resort with lots of amenities.

We have stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter many times as well. I think CBR has more to do, especially for guests traveling with elementary age kids.

The new pool at CBR is beautiful and also provides lots of recreational fun. There is a hot tub, cold spa, pool with two slides and a water play area complete with a pirate ship. My 8 year old son LOVED the pirate ship water area. It has small slides, a huge bucket that dumps out water after sounding a warning bell and horn, hoses to spray each other and more. It's open until 10:00 p.m. which made for a nice place to let our son run off some energy before bed. Okay, some  nights we didn't even  have energy to walk to the pool!

CBR offers a beautiful food court with many selections, including kid meals served in sand pails. The sandy beaches offer hammocks and playgrounds. There is a marina for boat rentals, fishing and a Pirate cruise adventure for kids.

You might also want to check out the new pirate and Nemo themed rooms!

It is a large resort. I suggest booking a standard room in the Jamaica section. The walk across Caribbean Cay to Old Port Royale offers tropical views and music!
