Hi Moms! DH, DS(6) & I are planning for Oct '16 - their 1st trip! We're torn between AKL and Contemporary. Which is more kid/family friendly? Rooms, pool, and food are the most important factors for us (particularly breakfast, my boys' fav. meal!). Tha

    Hi Brianna,

It's hard for me to choose between Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. They're both amazing properties! For a first visit, however, I'd probably choose Disney's Contemporary Resort.

You'll be staying right in the middle of the action, with Magic Kingdom Park (where you'll probably spend most of your visit) a short walk away and Epcot only a monorail ride away. There's plenty of fun to be had at the pools and you'll have easy access to fantastic casual dining at Contempo Cafe, as well as Table Service options at The Wave...Of American Flavors and Chef Mickey's. At night, you can catch Wishes Nighttime Spectacular right from your resort and watch the Electrical Water Pageant float on by.

As I said, you can't go wrong with either resort, but I would choose staying along the monorail at Disney's Contemporary Resort for your magical vacation.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, Brianna.

    Have a Disney day,
