Planning to come Oct 8 to AK with husband and 2 daughters (4 and 3 yrs old). Trying to find something for dinner - good food while still a good experience and affordable! Staying off resort, so we could eat there or anywhere really. Thanks!

    Hi Elizabeth,

I think your girls would love the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom.  This tropical rainforest-themed restaurant has entrances both inside and outside of the park, so you can chose to return to the park after dinner, or simply exit when you finish your meal.  The menu offers a huge variety of selections (burgers, salads, pasta, ribs, fish, etc.) and has a very popular children's menu.  In addition, it's reasonably priced and shouldn't break your Disney budget!  Their signature dessert is a family-sized creation called a "Volcano", which is comprised of mounds of ice cream, whipped-cream and brownies stacked to look like a giant volcano.  It's topped with a sparkly stick (feel free to ask for two so both of your girls get to take one home!)  The atmosphere is super fun, as you are surrounded by giant elephants, gorillas, butterflies, waterfalls and tropical fish tanks.  (We always bring some pennies for our kids to toss in the fountains.)  The restaurant even experiences a "thunder storm" every few minutes (don't worry, no one gets wet!)

    Have a wonderful trip!
