Planning NYE at WDW- my question is if I go to EPCOT at 9pm on NYE with my already prepaid/preplanned ticket will I be able to get in without an issue at that time, or what should I plan or expect for Epcot NYE?

Hello, Sierra. I love that you're planning to ring in the New Year at the Walt Disney World Resort. And EPCOT is an amazing choice!

While the events for the upcoming New Year's celebrations at the resort have not yet been announced, the parks are usually very exciting places to be. There are often specialty nighttime spectaculars and DJ dance parties at some parks, and of course, the holiday décor is usually still up. It's on my bucket list to ring in the new year at the resort. I mean, is there a better way to celebrate? I can't think of one!

While closures at the theme parks are rare, they do happen during very busy times at the resort, and New Year's Eve is often one of them. Even Guests who have prepaid theme park tickets are not allowed into a park that has reached capacity until enough people leave to allow more Guests in. As such, it's typically recommended on New Year's Eve to get to the park in the morning and only leave if you're comfortable with the idea of possibly not being able to get back in. This is especially true for Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT.

This is why just a little planning can go a long way. If EPCOT for New Year's Eve is on your bucket list like mine, just make sure you are there in the morning and stay until after you've celebrated the start of the New Year. And trust me, there's plenty to do to fill a whole day and then some. Consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass to secure your top rides, grab an advanced dining reservation as soon as you are eligible for a nice dinner, and then get ready to dance the night away around World Showcase. It will be an unforgettable experience and is a sure sign you're going to have a magical 2027!

If you have any other questions, I'm here for you!

    Wishing you a magical celebration,
    Matt
