    We are planning to come November 2014. Our kids will have just turned 12 and 2. We are not sure if we want to do all 4 parks or not. Which parks will be entertaining for both ages?

    Thanks for stopping by with your question. It's good to hear that you are thinking ahead and getting an early start on your trip for fall 2014! You're my kind of planner.

    I, too, have kids with a big age difference between my oldest and youngest and this can sometimes be a challenge as you want each of them to enjoy the trip equally. I would definitely recommend Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom, for sure. Both will have the thrilling rides for the older child while still having lots of tame and entertaining rides/shows for the little one. For example, in Magic Kingdom you have the "mountains" to interest the older one and then plenty of magical rides suitable for a toddler like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and it's a small world! At Animal Kingdom, my younger kids have always loved the Affection Section at Rafiki's Planet Watch and Triceratop Spin, while at the same time, my oldest son gets to ride Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids.

    Don't get me wrong, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios have plenty to offer in the form of fun for all ages, so don't disregard the possibility of going there just yet. I would suggest getting one or more guidebooks and read up on the different attractions. Involve your 12 year old in this part of the process and have him/her let you know if there is something he/she is really wanting to see and then look for options that might keep the younger one entertained in the same location. Birnbaum Guides for Walt Disney World is the official guidebook and offers detailed descriptions of rides/attractions with lots of fun pictures. Another great one is the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". This one is a bit more extensive and detailed, so be mindful of this and don't let it overwhelm you, it is still full of useful information.
