Planning on not make it into Epcot till around 12 pm so if i get genie + for the day, can i pick the return time for later in the day for a LL at 7am? + if idont make a selection at 7am and wait till 11am ( two hours after park opens) can i make two LL’s?

    Hiya Janet!

Welcome to planDIsney! A late start to your day can still be very efficient with Genie+. I sometimes get a thrill in booking my Lightning Lane return times with Genie+ as I love to see how many I can get done in one day. Sometimes the best strategy is to "stack" them in the afternoon so that you are enjoying various attractions gleefully one after the other with a limited wait.

When looking at available time slots for Lightning Lane return times on the My Disney Experience Mobile app you may find that your time selections will be limited to morning slots at first. You just get whatever time slots are next available. You can always refresh by pulling down the page to load different times. As Lightning Lane time slots are taken by others new later ones will appear. However, you will find very popular attractions such as Test Track will start running out of morning slots faster and would be a good choice to grab first for your afternoon adventure. There is also a risk that popular attractions will run out of Lightning Lane return times so make sure you keep an eye out on your "must-do" rides so you don't lose out.

As it is confusing to many, I want to go over some basic timing. You can start making your Lightning Lane reservations at 7 am. You can then make your next Lightning Lane reservation two hours after the Park's official opening time. Then after that, you can make the next one whenever you use up the first selected one or two hours after your last selected one. If this gets confusing you can always look at the top of the Genie+ page and you will see it note when you can book your next one. You cannot make two Lightning Lane selections at once on the app. It's one at a time which is why it's important to keep an eye out on your booking windows. Make sure to set an alarm reminding you to book your next experience and also check right after you "tap" into a Lightning Lane queue as that time could change.

As a strategy, I would start looking at Genie+ at 7 am and book something in the afternoon for the period closest to when I think I'm arriving in the Parks. Then, two hours after opening which could be 11 am you can book another one. When you enter EPCOT at noon you will have two Lightning Lanes ready to go. After you arrive you will ride your first Lightning Lane which, if you listened to me, be the one you booked at 7 am. Once you "tap" into this attraction you can book your next Lightning Lane return time. This is true even if you haven't entered your second Lightning Lane that you booked at 11 am.  You will soon find that your afternoon will be a dash from one Lightning Lane to another. Such shorter wait times in line will make your afternoon breeze by!

Don't miss your Lightning Lane return times as they do expire and you won't be able to get them again. If you find that a Lightning Lane return time interferes with a dining reservation, and trying to modify it on the app doesn't work then speak with the Cast Members located throughout the Park under the blue umbrellas labeled "The Guest Experience Team." They can help sort you out so that you don't miss your dining reservation or any other special reservation or tour.

I hope this helps and you have a magical time!

    Happy Planning!
