We're planning a 3 night Disney cruise followed by 2 nights at WDW. Can you tell me how the DCL transfers work from the port, including the times they leave, and if they're direct from the port to the various resorts, or is there a stop at MCO first?

Welcome aboard, Christine! You are getting ready to take off on my favorite type of Disney vacation: a surf and turf trip! You'll experience exciting activities and events, beautiful ports of call and gorgeous spaces on the ship. But when you disembark after all the fun, your Disney adventures won't be over since you'll be off to the Walt Disney World Resort for even more magic!

If you pre-purchase the Disney Cruise Line ground transfers, you'll be very happy that Disney takes care of all of the details. Simply disembark the ship, claim your luggage and go through customs, then hop on the motorcoach headed to your specific resort. These motorcoaches will run on a continuous basis that morning until all guests have disembarked. Disembarkation usually begins when the ship is cleared around 7:30 a.m. Guests must be off the ship by 9:00 a.m.

The motorcoaches that head to the resorts at Walt Disney World may carry guests heading to up to three different resorts per bus. They are separate than the motorcoaches heading to the airport. Your resort could be the first stop or it could be one of the second two, but it won't take too long. The trip between Port Canaveral and the resorts is around 45 minutes to an hour, then add on a a bit of extra time traveling between each resort.

While there is a cost of $35 per person each way, I promise that when you let Disney take care of the details, it makes your transition from land to sea and back again very seamless and easy! Keep in mind that you can also book this transportation from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral if you are flying in before the cruise.

I hope that helps as you get ready to set sail, Christine!
