Sailing on the
Disney Wonder to Alaska is truly the trip of a lifetime. From the amazing scenery to the incredible options for
Port Adventures, this is a vacation you will not soon forget!
When packing for an Alaskan cruise, you will need to be ready for anything. Some days you might need a medium weight jacket and a hat, while other days you might be in shorts and T-shirt and get some time to lounge by the pool. My kids were very comfortable most days in jeans and hoodies. It can be a bit breezy if you plan to be on deck, but a jacket and a cozy blanket will keep you comfortable. Even on cooler days it can be sunny, so you may want to bring sunglasses or a brimmed hat.
You probably won't need super heavy jackets or parkas, but plan for cooler temperatures. Dress in layers, as the weather can change quickly. That includes rain, so be prepared for some sprinkles. One thing you will really want to plan for is your footwear. When my family cruised, we did some hiking, so we needed our hiking shoes. Other days we needed sneakers for walking and
ziplining, then additional shoes to wear to
dinner and around the ship. I think I had an entire suitcase just for all of our shoes!
If you have time before or after your cruise, plan for a day or 2 to enjoy Vancouver. This is an amazing city with so much to see and do. Take an adventurous trek across the
Capilano Suspension Bridge or rent a bicycle and make a lap around Stanley Park. These are both great ways to get a taste of Vancouver!
As you plan your cruise, stop back with any additional questions. The team here at planDisney is happy to help! Wishing you a magical sailing on the
Disney Wonder to Alaska!
