Hello! We are planning our next trip to WDW, in 2017. We will stay at Fort Wilderness Cabin. We plan on having our meals there, but we might decide to eat at some location in the parks. Do we have to have a dining plan or can we pay out of pocket? Thanks

    Hi Lane,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. My family and I often stay at the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This resort has such a wonderful, immersive, and relaxing feel, and we love all of the recreation opportunities, including canoeing, archery, and horseback riding. Please do note that there is a fee associated with some recreation activities. Be sure to check out Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long, at which you can join in songs, meet Chip 'N Dale, enjoy a campfire, and then stay for a movie under the stars.

Like you, my family loves to prepare many of our meals at our cabin. The convenience of a full kitchen, plus the charcoal grill outside of every cabin, makes this very easy. We often find ourselves eating at the picnic table on our cabin's porch. You can absolutely pay for any meals that you eat at a restaurant at Walt Disney World out of pocket. So do not worry - you can prepare as many meals as you like at your cabin, and then simply pay for any meal that you eat out separately.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Lane. Have a wonderful time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
