Hi Katelin,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine the excitement in your household as your trip date inches closer!
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is one of our favorite moderate resort hotels. Although construction is ongoing, cast members are making every effort to minimize the disruption to resort guests. Our favorite restaurant, Shutters at Old Port Royale, along with the Old Port Royale Food Court, Banana Cabana Pool Boar and Calypso Trading Post will be closed for renovations. Guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner at
Centertown Buffet as well as island markets in Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique.
When I called to get additional information, the cast member with whom I spoke indicated that pools will be available and most construction will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. So, if you are at the parks during the day, the impact of the construction on your experience will be minimal. As you get closer to your visit, you can call to get updates at 407-939-1822 or send us another question and we will be happy to check the construction status.
On a related note, I do hope you have considered your room location. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is expansive. My favorite villages are Martinique, Trinidad North and Jamaica (Building 45) because they are close to the main food court and pool area. Building location is also important for bus pick-up and drop-off when heading to and from the parks. Since bus service can change, as you near the time of your visit, check back with us or call 407-934-3400 to check on bus pick-up order. Try to choose a building that is early in the pick-up order when heading to the parks but not last in the drop-off order when returning!
Katelin, I am sending pixie dust your way hoping for a peaceful visit!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
