Hi Emily, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I LOVE a Walt Disney World birthday trip! There’s just nothing more magical.
My nine-year-old loves to say that “there should be a Disney Parks Kids Panel” – so I took your question to her! She too has outgrown the character tees and princess dresses, but she loves to rock some
DisneyStyle and show her #DisneySide. Here are a few suggestions straight from a tween:
-Minnie Ear headbands can be purchased from shopDisney in advance, or in the merchandise locations in the parks.
-What about a custom MagicBand? There are so many options available in the parks, so she could choose from her favorite colors and styles or get something that reflects a character or attraction she loves.
-Many of the merchandise locations sell cute, inexpensive Disney-themed earrings, necklaces, and bracelets -my tween has been eyeing the build-your-own charm bracelet stations. My daughter also has a Pandora bracelet and we add a new Disney charm each visit.
-A cute Disney-themed purse or backpack lets her carry her own essentials and show some style.
-My daughter likes the adult tees in the parks gift shops, and she can often fit the extra small size if we scrunch up the hem like we used to do back in the day. I have one that says “This is My Happy Place” with a picture of Cinderella Castle, and I know it’s going to be in her closet someday soon. She also loves the
Walt Disney World Spirit Jerseys.
I hope that helps your daughter think of some cute ideas of her own, Emily! Happy shopping and outfit planning – always one of my favorite parts of the trip countdown.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
