I am planning a multi-family trip for May 2014. I have severe fibromyalgia Is there a way to rent a wheel chair for our entire stay versus just from park to park? And are there areas in each park away from the main gates where if I need to I get one?

    Hi, Noel!

Welcome to Walt Disney World!  Hopefully your stay will be as comfortable as possible.  Make sure to request an accessible room if that will help with any of your needs.

As far as wheelchairs go, you are able to rent them daily.  There are rental locations inside the gates of each park. These are daily rentals and the wheelchairs cannot go outside the park gates.

If you prefer a wheelchair or ECV that you can take back to your resort, you will want to rent from an outside source.  Read this HELPFUL WHEELCHAIR INFORMATION and at the bottom of the page is a list of rental companies that will be happy to assist you.

I hope this helps!  Please let us know if you need additional information.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
