Hi there, Whitney. Welcome to
planDisney!
I think you are so going to enjoy visiting
Walt Disney World in December. The theme parks are dressed up in their holiday best and it is so festive and fun. It makes for great pictures!
Whitney, on select nights in November and December Magic Kingdom Park, does close early to day Guests for an extra ticketed event called
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This does mean that the park does close early and those Guests without party tickets will be asked to make their way to the exit after 6:00 p.m. You can, however, enjoy Magic Kingdom Park right up until that time. You are more than welcome to enter any queue for attractions right up until that 6:00 p.m. mark. Even if the line takes an hour, you are more than welcome to stay in it and enjoy that attraction. Party Guests will have a special wristband that will identify them when getting in line for attractions and things like that, Cast Members will begin looking for Guests without wristbands that are walking around the theme park and ask them to start making their way toward the exit. Again, if you are in line for an attraction, character meet and greet or enjoying a meal right at 6:00 p.m. you won't be rushed out. Only after you are finished with that particular thing will you be asked to head out to the front.
If you still want to enjoy
Magic Kingdom Park that day but would rather spend a full day enjoying the theme parks, maybe consider upgrading your ticket to the
Park Hopper option. Park hopping is where you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. My suggestion would be to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park right up until dinnertime and then hop over to EPCOT. There you can enjoy dinner around The World Showcase and the new firework display
Harmonious which happens to be my favorite.
I hope this helps you plan out your day a little bit better, Whitney. If you have more questions about this or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy planning!
