Planning for mid-March,Trying to choose a resort for my son's bday (turning 5!), trying to choose between Beach club or Wilderness Lodge. Can you help me compare some of the things a 5 year old would love about each? (1 year old baby coming too) THANKS!

    Hi Amanda!

It's night answering a question from Maryland!

My absolute favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge and I think guests of all ages love it.  It's theming is wonderful and I think taking the boat to and from the Magic Kingdom is nice, especially at night.

However, if you're trying to pick the best resort for your son and the baby then I would recommend going to the Beach Club.  That's because of Stormalong Bay.  When my youngest son was 5 years old, we stayed at the Beach Club for a family reunion.  My cousin was there with her baby (about 15 months) and both the baby and my son had the best time in Stormalong Bay.  Specifically, they loved playing on the sand island surrounded by water!  They made sand castes and waded into the pool, etc.  They also played on the mini-water slide and both loved it!

That said, if you are going to spend most of your time in the Magic Kingdom, then I definitely recommend going with the Wilderness Lodge.  It's very easy to get back and forth for a quick nap, to swim in the pool, relax, etc.  However, if your trip is not Magic Kingdom "heavy", then I recommend staying at the Beach Club; your son will love it!

Write back if you have any more questions!
