We are planning a May 2016 vacation to WDW and looking to stay 4 nights at Art of Animation and move to Animal Kingdom Lodge for 2 nights. Is there transportation available between the hotels? Our kids are 4 and 23mos and not planning to bring car seats.

Hi, Matt! Thank you for bringing us your question.

This past May my family transferred resorts not once, but twice during our Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It was much simpler than I had anticipated. In the morning as you are checking out of Disney's Art of Animation Resort, you may leave your luggage and other items you want transferred to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with Bell Services. Inform them of your resort transfer and that you need your luggage moved to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. They will issue you a claim ticket you will use to retrieve your items at your new resort hotel. Resort transfers occur mid-afternoon, and your items will be available to retrieve later in the day with Bell Services at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. You may travel to your planned Theme Park of the day or the Downtown Disney Area using the Disney Transportation buses from Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Once you are ready to head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, simply board the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus and it will bring you to your new 'home'.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Matt!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
