Hi! Planning for May 2015. 6 adults and 5 kids ages 8,6,3,2,1. We have been before in POR in preferred room. Is it worth to ask for preferred rooms in Pop or All Stars? Any other tips? Thanks!

    Claudia:

When I stayed at All-Star Music last year, I was put in the farthest building from the food court in a standard room. Although it was a good 7-minute walk to get my coffee in the morning, I liked the quiet that my location afforded me, not to mention being a comfortable distance away from the laughs and screams at the pool. However, I didn't have my children with me. If you have young children who will want to be at the pool or you have the dining plan with refillable mug and want quick access to the food court, you may want to consider a preferred room. Additionally, my preferred room at All-Star Movies a few years back put us within 50 feet of the bus stop--very convenient and another reason to strongly consider a preferred room at such an expansive resort.

Because you're going in May during a time of year that the pool could be fully utilized by your children, I would opt for the preferred room and request a room near the pool and bus stop.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
