We are planning on making our first visit to WDW in June 2011. We are not staying in the resort because it cost to much for the amount of ppl in our party. 4 A and 5 k. Is there a way we can still get the extended hours without staying on site

Hi, Paula!  The Extra Magic Hours at the Walt Disney World theme parks are a perk that is offered only to guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel.  The hours, which give resort guests an extra hour in the morning and up to three extra hours each evening at a different theme park, are available only when showing your Key to the World card, which you get when you check in at a Walt Disney World resort.

I can recommend that you arrive at the theme park you wish to visit at least 15 or 20 minutes before the park opens.  Guests begin lining up, and by getting to the park that early in the morning, you can usually beat some of the longer lines that tend to form later in the day.  Our family strategy for when we have stayed off site has always been to get a fast pass as soon as we entered the park for our favorite attraction, then go wait in line for our second favorite.  The day always started on a happy note with our two favorite rides out of the way without concern for huge crowds!

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
