We are planning a magical Disney experience with our 2 granddaughters ages 11 and 8 we would like to book and Walt Disney world resort and a couple of days at the parks plus a 3-day cruise what is the best way to book this?

Ahoy there, Denise. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for taking the time to sail by with your trip-planning question for us.

I love spending time at the theme parks and don’t mind walking 10 thousand steps each day! But I also find rest and relaxation on a Disney cruise enjoyable as well. It looks like you’re interested in a Land and Sea vacation with your granddaughters. A Land and Sea vacation allows you to relax aboard a Disney ship, as well as enjoy a magical dose of Disney at the theme parks. You can visit Walt Disney World Resort before or after your cruise; either way, you’ll have a splendid time creating priceless memories with your family.

There are lots of lodging options to choose from during your time at the Walt Disney World Resort. Some aspects to consider when choosing hotels include how many nights you wish to stay, the hotel’s location and category (deluxe, moderate, value). Since my children are now young adults (23- and 18-years-old), we prefer to stay in the EPCOT area since that is the theme park we enjoy the most. However, since your granddaughters are younger, staying closer to Magic Kingdom may be suit your family better.

There are also endless Disney Cruise Line options for you to choose from as well, including destinations, ships, and duration of your sailing. Port Canaveral is a popular port of choice for a Land and Sea Vacation. I recommend checking out the Disney Cruise Line website to see all the unique offerings, then narrow down the many options. You can book your sailing on the Disney Cruise Line website and then book your vacation package for Walt Disney World Resort separately. Alternatively, you can also call (800) 951-3532 to speak with a Disney vacation specialist when you’re ready to book your Land and Sea vacation or contact your travel agent.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Denise. Please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again if you have more questions for us as you continue to plan your magical vacation with your granddaughters!

Hope to “SEA” ya real soon,
    Kiki

Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
