Hi there, Henry!
I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney today to discuss one of my very favorite topics: maximizing magic while minimizing waits at Walt Disney World Resort! Just this week I was able to secure Lightning Lane Multi Pass entrances for my family's top three attractions at
Disney's Hollywood Studios (like you, I'm all about everyone's favorite good boy, Slinky Dog), and we can't wait to put them to use tomorrow!
It seems that you are an experienced Mouseketeer, Henry, so I'll skip the
purchase process and get right to your question! While the previous system for bypassing standby queues at Walt Disney World Resort permitted Guests to make a new Lightning Lane selection every two hours regardless of whether or not the previous selection had been redeemed,
Lightning Lane Multi Pass will not allow you to make a new selection until one of the three you currently hold has been redeemed. This is why I always opt to make at least one early morning selection to maximize the value of my purchase.
It's important to keep in mind that while Lightning Lane Multi Pass can be used in multiple parks by Guests with Park Hopper tickets at no additional fee, your initial three selections must be in the same theme park, so if you are hoping to use your purchase in both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios you'll likely need at least one attraction selected before 5 PM. If you already have an evening Slinky Dog Dash lightning lane, hold on to it! I know how hard those are to come by! My suggestion would be to use at least one of your
lower-tired passes for an early-morning Lightning Lane entrance at Disney's Hollywood Studios (return times can be easily modified in the My Disney Experience app). Once you have redeemed it, you'll be able to select an experience in EPCOT which is a convenient
Disney Skyliner ride away. Redeeming your first selection will also give you the ability to edit your other selections for experiences at any theme park. Although it might require a few more steps to maximize the value of a Lightning Lane Multi Pass when park hopping, in my experience it is well worth it!
I hope this information is helpful for you, Henry! If you are in need of any additional assistance, feel free to
come see me again. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
