Aloha Edgar!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom’s Panel. In my opinion, there is nothing better than being surrounded by your loved ones, enjoying a delicious meal together at the end of a fun day at
‘Ohana.
If I had to choose my favorite dining location at the Walt Disney World Resort, ‘Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my top choice. From the moment you are seated, one thing is obvious, ‘Ohana means family, and at this location, everyone is family. One of the reasons I love this location so much is because food is served family-style. That means you don’t have to get up to get anything, and you still have plenty of choices. Your meal will start with a melt in your mouth ‘Ohana Pineapple-Coconut bread and a beautiful salad. Appetizers to share are delicious Pork Dumplings and Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings. I have to interrupt myself right here because, as a girl from Buffalo NY, I never thought that I would enjoy wings from anywhere else, well I sure was wrong. These chicken wings are crispy and sweet and so delicious. You also will have plenty of main course options as servers will come around to your table with Skewers filled with chicken, steak, and shrimp. In addition to other accompaniments, save room for their famous ‘Ohana Bread Pudding a la mode.
Let’s get to the “meat” of your question (do you see what I did there?) It doesn’t matter what time your dining reservation is for, at 'Ohana, your food will always be plentiful, fresh and hot, and service should be top-notch. Disney is in the business of making memories and making sure that Guests have a fantastic experience. Your server will never rush you through this meal because of a late dining time. Since you are on the
Disney Dining Plan, you are entitled to one beverage of your choice at each meal. While there are no guarantees, it doesn’t hurt to ask your server if you can have a soda after your first drink.
I hope you enjoy this Polynesian-style meal. Wishing you many magical memories!
