We are planning a last minute trip to Disney World for 11/29 through 12/3. I am finding that there are NO character meals available. All of the recommended places are booked up for table service too. Will slots open up? Can I walk in to eat?

    Hi Erin,

Congratulations on your last minute trip!  I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to find any openings at the character dining and table service locations.  At this point, rest assured that even if you don't secure a table service reservation there are PLENTY of counter service locations for you to choose from.  The upside to this is that you'll have more time to explore the parks!

Now that being said, I think it's worth giving it another try once you are there.  You can call the dining reservation line from your resort, or you can even stop by guest relations at any of the theme parks.  Keep in mind that guest relations can only check for availability for times that are three hours in the future, meaning that if you visit guest relations at 3:00 P.M. they are only going to be able to search availability after 6:00 p.m.  Like you mentioned, it doesn't hurt to walk up and ask a table service restaurant if they have any current openings.  Cancellations and no-shows happen all the time - and you'll have nothing to lose for asking.

Best of luck to you - I hope something opens up for you, but am confident that you'll have a great time either way!
