Hello - I am planning a large group family vacation for August of 2011. I have read through much advice, and been given much advice...leaving me very confused over exactly where to start and when to book? Please help! Thank you,

Hi Holly, It sounds like you are in the midst of planning a "Grand Gathering"! Disney is a fantastic place to visit with a big group of your favorite people!

You'll want to start by browsing the various Disney Resorts to see which ones fit your budget and have the themes that most appeal to you. See: HERE.

Once you've chosen a Resort that you like, your best bet is to call Disney's Grand Gathering Travel Planners at 407-WDW-PLAN. They will be able to assist in making lodging reservations for a party of 8 or more people. While rates will not be released for August of 2011 yet, you are able to book "Room Only" reservations for now to hold the rooms. You can always convert these to packages at a later date.

As members of a Grand Gathering, you will be eligible to participate in the "Safari Celebration Dinner", the "Good Morning Gathering" and the International Dinner & IllumiNations Dessert Reception". These can all be arranged by your Travel Planner up to 180 days prior to arrival.

Hope this helps and please let us know if we can help you further.
