We are planning a large family vacation. We have an 84 year old matriarch that will be spending her days in The Grand Floridian and will join the rest of us in the evenings. If we are having dinner in one of the parks will she be allowed to enterthe Park

Hi, Sephanie! You could not have selected a better Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for your family's matriarch to spend her Disney-days! My family considers Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to be our Disney "home!" It is beautiful both inside and out! I'll share a little bit more about the resort after answering your question!

If members of your party book a Disney Dining reservation in any of the four Disney Parks, all members must have a valid theme park admission ticket and Disney Park Pass reservation to attend the dining location within the park. If it is helpful, wheelchairs are available for daily or length-of-stay rentals. Having a wheelchair may allow your family's matriarch to comfortably experience the Disney Parks in the late afternoons or evenings prior to or after a dining reservation. Many of the parks also have indoor attractions to help escape the heat of the Florida sun!

Sephanie, while you make your special dining reservations, please know that you might not have to travel any further than your own Disney Resort Hotel! Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is home to some of the most amazing dining experiences in the entire Walt Disney World Resort! Narcoossee's offers a delicious menu, a classy atmosphere, and a waterfront view of the resort! Cinderella Castle can even be seen in the distance! The Grand Floridian Cafe is also nice for a more casual meal. We have enjoyed many gatherings of our large family at this restaurant! The Enchanted Rose is also worth a visit for an afternoon or evening cocktail!

Don't forget that more amazing dining locations within Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort are just a Monorail ride away from your resort! Riding the Monorail to these other resorts might be a very convenient way for your matriarch to join you at some very special dining locations. If you decide to go this route, be sure to make a reservation for 'Ohana! This great experience is currently closed but should be reopening later this summer following refurbishment of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort! California Grill sits atop Disney's Contemporary Resort and has a great menu and a beautiful view of Cinderella Castle!
