Planning going to La Nouba and after that dinner at The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck. Could you recommend places to have a cocktail before dinner? Will I need a reservation? Two adults. Thank you for all you do for us! ;-)

    Hi Ivan,

What a fabulous evening you have planned! The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck is a beautiful room with delicious food. It’s a great way to end an evening that begins with La Nouba.

You have many options for a pre- or post-dinner cocktail in the Downtown Disney West Side area. House of Blues has two bars, one inside in the rear of the restaurant and the outdoor Front Porch lounge which features live music every evening, weather permitting.  It’s a fun atmosphere, but very casual.

Both Bongos and Splitsville have outdoor patios for dining or drinks. If you don’t mind walking just a little farther – 5 minutes or so -- a couple of our favorite spots are just over the bridge from the West Side in the Pleasure Island area: Raglan Road and Paradiso 37.

Both are full-service restaurants but have lovely bars as well. Paradiso 37’s bar features craft beers, giant margaritas and a huge tequila bar. Thermometers mounted throughout the room announce the temperature of the beer casks. You also can sit on the patio, with a view of the boats coming from the Saratoga Springs resort.

Raglan Road has outdoor and indoor bar seating. We’re partial to the indoor bar with its dark wood, Irish whiskeys and beers from the British Isles. It’s a favorite spot on a hot afternoon or for a nightcap. There’s also music in the evenings here.

I suggest you make a reservation for dinner at the Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck, if you haven’t already, but you won’t need a reservation for any of the bars. Sometimes we make the choice based simply on which one of our favorites is the least crowded at any moment.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful evening and visit to the Walt Disney World resort. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions as you make your plans. Enjoy!

    Wilma
