Hello Rachel!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited for you and your family! My daughter is 6-years-old, and experiencing Disney through her eyes and heart is very special.
For a first visit I highly recommend
Chef Mickey’s. This is a classic character dining experience, especially if you plan on spending quality time with Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck and Pluto.
I especially like Chef Mickey’s because the restaurant is located at the iconic
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which means you do not need to have a theme park ticket to enjoy a meal here. This is very important for my family because we usually go to Chef Mickey’s on a rest day when we are not going to the parks. We sleep in until a little later at our Disney Resort hotel after spending the previous day at the parks, and then we go to the restaurant for a nice brunch. After our meal we hop on the monorail and visit
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for a Dole Whip from
Pineapple Lanai. We take our time, and usually end our day at
Disney Springs.
Chef Mickey's is also the perfect location for a farewell breakfast or brunch on the morning of our departure, so we can enjoy that last bit of pixie dust before going home. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance.
I hope this helps you while planning. Your kids are going to love this experience!
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
