Planning kids first trip (DD-6, DS-4) for mid May 2011. I have picky eaters. Have the meal plan and have already booked Cinderella's Castle, O'Hana, Coral Reef and Chef Micky any other suggestions? I have 3 more table service meals I need to book. THANKS!

    Amy:

It sounds like you will be at Disney for 7 wonderful days, and you already have quite a line-up of restaurants!

Honestly, I would recommend you consider doubling two of your remaining credits to enjoy one of Disney's Dinner Shows.  When our family went on the dining plan (two times to be exact) when our children were younger, not only were the kids stuffed by about Day 4, so were my husband and I! The dining plan includes so much food that we took some advice from some savvy Disney friends and skipped a meal (I tell you how to here) and enjoyed the Hoop Dee Doo Revue on one visit and the Spirit of Aloha Dinner on the other.  With the ages of your children, I would recommend considering Mickey's Backyard Barbecue, both for the fact that its hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner/all-you-can-eat Mickey ice cream bars for dessert AND for the memories! Adult beverages are included in the price along with gratuity.

That leaves one more credit. I would imagine that you're visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. I don't care for the table service choices at Animal Kingdom that are on the dining plan, but if you're children enjoy Handy Mandy, Hollywood & Vine would be a solid choice at DHS for breakfast or lunch. Good for picky eaters because it's a buffet. Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom offers a huge buffet, too, if you're spending two days at the Magic Kingdom. The kids will have a fun time with Pooh!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
