We are planning a July vacation to Disney World. While I am worried about the heat at that time of the year, it is our best option this year. What beach or beaches would you recommend on the Atlantic coast (Georgia or Florida)?

Hi Andrea! A summer vacation to Disney World goes perfectly when paired with a side trip to the beach!

We've had the opportunity of staying in Amelia Island and Daytona Beach, both on the Atlantic coast of Florida. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet of Amelia however, it is a further drive from Orlando so if travel time/ distance is a consideration then Daytona would be a closer option.

Another choice you might consider is Disney's Vero Beach Resort which is two hours southeast of Walt Disney World. You'd be able to experience a great family beach getaway with the magic of Disney still sprinkled throughout your stay. You'll want to check out the unofficial resource www.mousesavers.com and type "beach resorts" in the search box at the top of the page for possible discounts.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney and beach vacations be practically perfect in every way!
