    We're planning on going in January 2010. What will the weather be like for us?? I've read that it's cold enough to need a winter coat but find this hard to believe. I'm from north/central Ontario so right now it's -25 degrees celcius plus windchill.

    Hello from your neighboring New Hampshire!  Being from New England, I'm no stranger to cold temperatures so I can understand how "cold" is all relative.

    Having traveled to Orlando several times in January, I can tell you winter coats may very well be necessary.  We've been there when hats and mittens were needed, but on the flip side we've been able to swim in January on other trips.  The average temperatures in January range from a high of 71 degrees fahrenheit (22 celsius) to a low of 49 degrees fahrenheit (10 celsius).  Keep in mind it takes just a slight wind to drop these numbers and make it feel much cooler.

    My advice would be to watch the weather carefully, and be prepared for cold weather just in case.  I think you're better off being prepared for the cold weather and not needing your coats and mittens, rather than "hoping" it will be warm enough only to have mother nature throw you a surprise.

    All that said, January is one of my favorite times to visit.  The low crowds make any weather tolerable!
